Team India, which is doing better in the Boxing Day Test, is tightening its grip on the match. Rahane Sena, who all out Australia for 195 in the first innings, scored 326 and took a 131-run lead.

                              

The Indian bowlers then tied the Aussies batsmen who started the second innings on the third day of play. Jaspreet Bumra, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin took one wicket each while Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets to break the hosts' lead.

By the close of play on the third day, the Aussies had scored 133 runs in 66 overs and lost six crucial wickets.

Currently, the Thailanders Cameroon Green (17) and Pat Cummins (15) are at the crease. The Aussies have a 2-run lead. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rahane lauded the efforts of the Indian bowlers.

He said that by taking crucial wickets, Team India was in a good position. He said that the match was not over then and the expected result would come if the rest of the wickets could be taken quickly. Rahane said Jadeja was unhappy after his runout and advised him to move forward boldly.
