Team India star opener Rohit Sharma's line cleared. The hitman passed the fitness test conducted by the medical team at the National Academy of Cricket (NCA) on Friday. The BCCI said in a statement to this effect.

NCA Director Rahul Dravid along with the BCCI medical team conducted a fitness test for Rohit under the supervision of selectors.

Rohit, who has passed the fitness test, is likely to leave for Australia on December 14. According to Rohit's rules, he has to meet the team after 14 days of quarantine.

With this, Rohit, who will miss the first two Tests, will be available for the last two Tests. Team India regular captain Virat Kohli will return home on paternity leave after the first Test.

Kohli will be replaced by Ajinkya Rahane as captain for the remaining three Tests. The first Test between Aussies and India will be played in Adelaide from December 17.
