Due to the corona there was a move on the management of very late domestic cricket tournaments. The domestic season begins with the Syed Mustaq Ali T20 tournament at the beginning of the new year. This was disclosed by Jai Shah, Secretary, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Jai Shah told BCCI affiliates via mail that the Mustaq Ali tournament will be held from January 10 to 31 in six states by setting up biosecure hubs. ‘State teams wishing to participate in the tournament must arrive at the respective venues on January 2nd. Competitions will be held from 10 p.m.

We will hold the final on the 31st. We will decide on the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy at the end of this group stage. Jai Shah hinted that the state associations should make arrangements with a view to organizing another tournament along with Mustaq Ali.
