Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (4/8) boomed in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies. Bangladesh won the first match by 6 wickets. Earlier, the West Indies collapsed to 122 in 32.2 overs. All but Kel Myers (40; 4 fours, 1 six) and Powell (28 off 31 balls; 2 fours, 2 sixes) failed to score.

Along with Shakib, Hasan Mahmood took 3 wickets and Mustafizur 2 wickets. Bangladesh then won by 125 runs for 4 wickets in 33.5 overs. Captain Tamim Iqbal (44 off 69 balls; 7 fours) impressed. Shakib won the Player of the Match award. Six players from the West Indies and one from the Bangla team made their international debuts with this match.
